AI-powered people and vehicle counting for Godrej One
Client profile
Godrej One is a premium commercial office development located in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, India, one of the city’s most prominent business districts. The building features Ground + 19 floors and is designed as a modern commercial environment combining contemporary architecture, advanced technology, and amenities for businesses and their employees.
With multiple entry and exit points, lobbies, internal circulation areas, and parking zones, the site experiences continuous movement of people and vehicles. Reliable visibility into these flows is important for security, facilities management, parking operations, and resource planning.
Project background
Godrej One required a reliable way to automatically measure people and vehicle movement across key areas of the property. Traditional manual counting and basic motion-based systems could not provide the accuracy, direction awareness, and historical data required for a high-traffic commercial environment. The client also needed the analytics data to be available within an existing third-party dashboard for centralized reporting and operational decision-making.
The project therefore focused on creating an AI-powered counting solution that could provide continuous, data-driven visibility while fitting into the existing video surveillance environment.
Solution
TRASSIR deployed a solution based on a neural video analytics module designed to detect, track, and count people and vehicles.
The solution included:
- TRASSIR Neuro Counter
- TRASSIR NeuroStation-series NVRs
- Strategic camera coverage across entrances, parking inflows and outflows, and key internal passages
- Integration with the client’s third-party operational dashboard
Neuro Counter enables objects to be counted as they cross virtual lines or enter and exit defined zones, with direction-aware counting. This provides detailed information about traffic flows without requiring manual intervention. The system generates both diagrammatic and tabular reports for selected periods, while data can be exported for further analysis. Python scripts and API capabilities also allow analytics data to be integrated with external software platforms.
For Godrej One, people and vehicle counts — including timestamps, directions, and zone-specific totals — were integrated into the third-party dashboard, providing a unified view for operational analysis and reporting.
The architecture also provides room for future expansion. Additional cameras and analytics licenses can be added as new areas require coverage, while the integration layer can support further connections with building management, access control, or business intelligence systems.
The project was implemented together with Procom Office Solutions Pvt Ltd.
Results and impact
The deployment transformed the existing video infrastructure into a source of actionable operational data. Godrej One gained continuous visibility into people and vehicle movement across key areas of the property, helping management better understand traffic patterns and make more informed decisions around security staffing, facilities management, parking, and space utilization.
Key benefits include:
- Automated people and vehicle counting
- Bidirectional movement analysis
- Real-time and historical traffic data
- Integration with the existing operational dashboard
- Reduced reliance on manual counting
- Better visibility into peak traffic periods
- Improved parking and vehicle-flow management
- Scalable architecture for additional cameras and analytics
By combining AI-powered counting, flexible integration, and scalable infrastructure, the project demonstrates how video surveillance can evolve into an intelligent source of operational insights for modern commercial properties.
